AZORES | Private Social Solidarity Institutions and charities with four million-Euro boost
On Wednesday, the Regional Secretariat for Health and Social Security, URIPSSA – Regional Union of Private Social Solidarity Institutions of the Azores, and URMA – Regional Union of Misericórdias of the Azores (charities) signed the third addendum to the basic agreement establishing the processing of the amount corresponding to the financial contribution of the 2023-2024 Cooperation Commitment for the Social and Solidarity Sector.
The addendum applies to the Cooperation Contracts – Client Value regarding existing social responses under the Azores Social Welfare Code, in force in 2024, and updates the Social Security financial contributions to the institutions providing these social responses.
The national commitment provided for the processing of an additional contribution and a global update of 30% for 2024 in December 2023, with the remaining 70% having already been transferred by the National Government, thus ensuring compliance with the provisions of paragraph b) of clause V of the said commitment.
Mónica Seidi stressed that the Regional Government remains “fully receptive and willing to review the standard value of social responses in the Region this year,” admitting that the transfer of these funds will bring stability to institutions.
The monthly payments will begin next month, with retroactive effect from January, at a percentage corresponding to 70% of the overall update for 2024.
These transfers will be directly applied to most typical and atypical social responses, except for Daycare Centres as well as Residential Structures for the Elderly and Residential Home.
