AZORES | José Manuel Bolieiro reappointed to Council of State

The President of the Regional Government of the Azores, José Manuel Bolieiro, was sworn in as a member of the Council of State on Wednesday.

It should be noted that the President of the Government of the Azores holds a seat in the advisory body to the President of the Republic.

As President of the XIV Regional Government, José Manuel Bolieiro was sworn in as a member of the Council of State following the regional legislative elections on February 4

On the same day, the new President of the Assembly of the Republic, José Pedro Aguiar-Branco, was also sworn in as a member of the Council of State.

The Council of State is the political advisory body of the President of the Republic, which he chairs.

The Council of State, which met on Friday at the Belém Palace in Lisbon, deliberates on a series of acts for which the President of the Republic is responsible. It also advises the President on his duties whenever requested.
