Applications are now open for the AECT – Support Programme for Entrepreneurship, Creativity and Youth Talent, promoted by the Regional Secretariat for Youth, Vocational Training and Employment, through the Regional Directorate for Youth.

Applications must be submitted through the juventude.azores.gov.pt portal until February 29 for the START and REART initiatives and until March 31 for IMPACT projects.

After assessment and validation, projects and initiatives to be developed during the second half of 2024 are eligible for support under the START and IMPACT measures, while applications for projects to be developed between 1 April and 30 November are eligible under the REART measure.

The START measure supports the implementation of small initiatives in the areas of youth entrepreneurship and creativity, which contribute to the initial impetus for youth creation and innovation.

The IMPACT measure aims to boost the development of high-potential initiatives in the creative and youth entrepreneurship areas, which will result in projects with a positive impact on the youth community and/or with the expectation of sustainability and long-term success.

The REART measure supports short-term artistic residencies.

The maximum duration of projects varies between 6 and 12 months and the funding amounts to 1,500 and 5,000 Euros for the START and IMPACT projects, respectively.

Short-term Artistic Residencies (REART) can be carried out from three to five days, with support amounting to 100 Euros a day per participant.

AECT projects can be promoted by young people aged between 16 and 30, born or resident in the Autonomous Region of the Azores; informal groups of young people; non-profit organisations; artisans whose status is recognised by the Crafts and Design Centre of the Azores (in the case of the REART measure) and Houses of the Azores with projects to promote Azorean identity.

AECT also encompasses the FORMART measure to support training in the creative arts, and applications are also open on the Azores Youth Portal.
