Between October 28 and November 1, the Government of the Azores will promote the 8th edition of Taste Azores at the Colombo Shopping Centre in Lisbon, bringing together 23 regional companies and projects in an initiative aimed at boosting the visibility, promotion and presence of Azorean products amongst consumers in the domestic market. The event falls within the strategy to promote regional produce abroad and strengthen the “Azores” brand.

“Azorean products stand out for their quality, authenticity and connection to the Region, reflecting the unique characteristics of our islands, our natural resources and the expertise of our producers. This identity is a distinguishing factor that enhances the Azores’ standing in national and international markets, taking products of excellence – which have the potential to win over consumers in different regions – ever further afield,” stated António Ventura, Regional Secretary for Agriculture and Food.

Over the course of five days, the Central Square at Centro Colombo will showcase agrifood, gastronomic and artisanal products that reflect the archipelago’s diverse production, offering visitors the opportunity to engage directly with Azorean businesses and producers, as well as to discover the richness of the Region’s flavours, knowledge and traditions.

The 2026 edition features 23 regional companies and projects, covering a range of sectors, from dairy products, agricultural and processed goods to handicrafts and tourism promotion, highlighting the productive capacity, innovation and entrepreneurship found in the Azores.

“In this context, Taste Azores plays an important role in promoting regional production, raising the profile of Azorean companies and showcasing the quality and uniqueness of regional produce to the world,” emphasised António Ventura.

The initiative represents an important platform for economic and commercial promotion for the participating companies, contributing to raising the visibility of their products amongst thousands of consumers, expanding the presence of Azorean produce in the domestic market and creating new business opportunities.

The programme also includes cultural entertainment, namely a performance by TUCA – Tuna Universitária Corsários dos Açores, a musical group consisting of Azorean university students, scheduled for October 31, offering visitors a more complete experience whilst promoting Azorean culture to the public in the Portuguese capital.

The organisation of Taste Azores is part of the Azorean Government’s commitment to promoting regional products and boosting the competitiveness of Azorean businesses, creating the conditions to raise awareness of the quality of regional produce and expand its presence in external markets.

With such initiatives, the Government of the Azores continues to promote the excellence of the archipelago’s products, supporting producers and contributing to the sustainable growth of the agrifood and craft sectors, which are fundamental pillars of the regional economy.
