NEW’S | Regional Government grants support to 22 clubs and associations for acquisition of equipment, boats and vehicles

The Regional Secretariat for Health and Sport, through the Regional Directorate for Sport, has granted financial support in three areas under the terms of Ordinance no. 11 of February 6, 2020, namely for the refurbishment of sports facilities or social headquarters, the purchase of vehicles for the transport of athletes and the purchase of boats for nautical activities.

This procedure was carried out after the assessment of the applications submitted and in accordance with the criteria established in the aforementioned Order.

Accordingly, the sum of 98,395.00 Euros was allocated to this type of support as set by Order No. 354/2023 of March 6, 2023: 22,485.00 Euros for equipment, 75,310.00 Euros for the purchase of vehicles and 600 Euros for the purchase of boats.

The support was granted to 22 sports associations from five islands of the Azores, which is intended for the purchase of eight vehicles, two boats for training and competition activities, and also a wide range of equipment for head offices and sports practice of clubs or associations.

It corresponds to a global investment of more than 212 thousand Euros by sports associations.
