PONTA DELGADA | Regional Government marks Women’s Day with conference on “Natália Correia, a Woman beyond her time”

The Vice-Presidency of the Regional Government of the Azores, through the Regional Directorate for the Promotion of Equality and Social Inclusion, promotes a conference to celebrate the International Women’s Day on March 8 at the Ponta Delgada Regional Public Library and Archive.

The opening session will take place at 6 pm and will be presided over by the Regional Director for the Promotion of Equality and Social Inclusion, Sandra Garcia, representing the Vice-President of the Government, Artur Lima.

The conference will be held under the theme “Natália Correia, a Woman beyond her time.” It will feature as speakers Iva Matos, Director of the Ponta Delgada Public Library and Regional Archive, and Ângela Almeida, writer, researcher and author of the doctoral thesis “The Symbolism of the Island and Pentecostalism in the Literary Work of Natália Correia.”

The event will be moderated by Paulo Simões, Director of the “Açoriano Oriental” newspaper.
